Ahmed received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Omar Al Mukhtar, Libya, in 1997, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, Germany, the University of Adelaide, Australia, in 2006 and 2014, respectively. In 2015, he joined the department of electrical engineering, Tobruk University, as a Lecturer. His current research interests include Real-Time Application of IEC 61850 Standard, Power System Automation and Smart Grids, Power System State Estimation, Application of Synchrophasors, Electrical machines and drives, Power Quality and Active Filters. Ahmed is a fellow of the Electrical Energy Society of Australia (EESA), academic community member of the International Congress for Global Science and Technology (ICGST), committee member of the International Scientific Committee and Editorial Board on Electrical and Electronic (IAENG) and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
